Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Platform: Playstation 3
Genre: Puzzle Platformer
Metacritic Rating: 95/100
Copies Sold: 4.5 million
Release Date: October 2008

LittleBigPlanet is a popular platformer game with many physics based puzzles making up a large part of its gameplay. There is a short single player campaign, but the biggest draw card of the game is the level editor, which allows players to create and publish their own grand designs for everyone to play, rate and comment on. It was first announced by Phil Harrison on 7 March 2007 and developed by Media Molecule under the name The Next Big Thing. Sony Computer Entertainment published the game, and many consider it a big reason for the success of the Playstation 3.

Central to the game is the player controlled character known as Sackboy, Sackgirl, or even gender neutral Sackperson, depending on the costume the player chooses to adorn their character with. Pre built levels are included in the game with a vague storyline for players to play through, but the game is infinitely customizable for those players who have a creative bent. Players can choose to simply alter their character and personal space, or they can create entire new levels, and modify in game objects to create entirely new and unique objects. The ability to share them online with other players is integral to Sony’s Play, Create, Share philosophy.

Sackboy is endowed with the typical platformer powers of running, jumping and grabbing objects. Grabbing objects allows the player to move switches, pull objects, or swing in order to manipulate the environment in order to progress through the level. LittleBigPlanet has a highly developed physics engine not before seen in a typical platformer, and which allows a player to explore levels, and create new content in unique and exciting ways. With the ability to play cooperatively online, the game also encourages players to play together in order to get higher scores and receive new objects to use in the level editor.

The game starts off with the players Sackperson situated in their own personal Pod. It is here that a player accesses either the story levels, with each level selectable on a planet visible through the Pod’s window, or they can access user created content via the moon orbiting the planet. Each level is unlocked only through reaching the end of the previous level. In the first instance, a player is only able to access the tutorial level where they learn the controls of the game, and the basics of how to modify the level with stickers and decorations.

Sales

LittleBigPlanet has been a huge success with SCEE president Andrew House announcing in 2010 that the game had sold more than 4.5 million units globally.

Metacritic Rating: 91/100
Copies Sold: 2 million
Release Date: February 2010

Killzone 2 is a Playstation 3 game that incorporates shooting. It was developed by Guerrilla Games and is a Sony publication. It is the third of a series that all started on Playstation 2 with the game Killzone and bled into the portable Playstation with the title Killzone: Liberation. The game was first announced in 2005 with a displayed demo of the fun. The first footage of actual game play was viewed two years later in 2007. Killzone 2 entered worldwide circulation in February 2009. In 2011 Killzone 3 was released.

Killzone 2 follows the events of the previous games and is totally set on Helghan, the home planet of the Helghast which took over an Interplanetary Strategic Alliance. Two years following the Helghast assault on Vekta, the alliance assaulted the enemy at home in the world of Helghan. The ultimate goal is to get the leader of the Helghasts, named Emporer Scolar Visari. When he is captured, the Helghast war machine can be stopped as well. Players fill the role of Sergeant Sevchenko. He is a special forces war veteran is part of the Alpha team and must go on a mission to kill the Helghast threat.

Throughout Helghan’s invasion, Sevchenko’s unit is sent behind the lines of the enemies to help the major force of invasion. Together with taking out the enemy’s capital city Pyrrhus, Heklghan’s first real city, the team uncovers quickly that the enemies are even harder to get rid of on their own planet. They are very well adapted the hostile conditions found on Helghan and have captured the power of the lightning storms that always occur. These can be used against the alliance. Helghan is a cold and dark world that has a ready defense with thick air that is filled with acid and dust, along with violent lightning storms. Sevchenko finds his team is not only fighting the enemy, they may be fighting the entire planet.

Gameplay

This game takes place almost totally in the first person, besides the vehicular combat. Killzone 2 has a lean and peak system that lets the players take cover in back of objects and them jump out and attack enemies. The mechanic remains in the first person view throughout the game. It is also possible that the player can drive vehicles at two places of the game. A player can steer an exoskeleton and a tank. Many traditional weapons and automobiles from past Killzone games come back, like the StA-52 and the M82-G. The Sixaxis motion control is used in doing certain things like turning a valve, placing explosives and charging them, and sniping.

Multiplayer

The name of the online muktiplayer part of Killzone 2 is Warzone. It also was developed by Guerrilla Games along with the single player version. The inline multiplayer mode is based on class which means that a player may select a class of characters that are made for a certain role that suits the player’s needs during battle. There are 7 classes in all. With them, a player may mix and match according to the way they like to play the game. They can change abilities after they die. There are 15 weapons to choose from, most of which can only be used after the player reaches a particular rank. Two of these are firearms. Another two weapons, the Flamethrower and Boltgun, are found only in the downloadable Arctower Landing and Suljeva Cliffside maps.

Players star as ISA or Helghast and only have a few differences in gameplay. These include the respawn points, character model, and cover system were taken away. Every class levels up with the gained experience from killing enemies or finishing the objectives of the missions. With experience, players can unlock new abilities, weapons, and levels. Every class has two badges. The Primary badge picks the class and the unique skill. The Secondary badge has a bonus skill and can be swapped to make a custom class.

Warzone plays out dynamic matches that have different kinds of games payed in a single round. The game comes with five various genres like Assasination, Search and Destroy, Capture and Hold, and Search and Retrieve. Online players can connect with many other different players. They can group into six squads containing as many as four players. If there are not 32 real people available, the computer will generate bots. Killzone 2 also has a clan system which lets clans of 64 people vie for Valor Points. This is money used in the game that can be used in tournaments.

Players may also play offline versus Als in Skirmish mode and online unranked multiplayer as well. Unfortunately, there is no offline multiplayer mode.

Eight maps are included with the game during the release, but Guerrilla has made more through downloads. Six additional maps have been added to the multiplayer mode after the initial release through downloads which can be bought from the Playstation Store. This lets the enjoyment, fun and adventure continue past the initial idea.

Copies Sold: 6.3 million (as of March 2011)
Release Date: November 2010

GT5 or Gran Turismo Five is the fifth edition of this racing game series. Published by Sony Computer Entertainment and Developed by Polyphony Digital, this game was launched for the PS3 in November 2010. It is an expansion of the Prologue version for this series and is the first series entry to be developed for the PlayStation 3 system.

GT5 is additionally the first game in this series to offer online races that includes up to 16 player support. A damage model has also been added to the game and includes variations of the specific damages that occur which specify whether or not the vehicle will be designated as a premium vehicle or a standard vehicle. This version provides players with more than 26 different locations and 1,000 vehicles to choose from as well as different racing tracks. GT5 also marks the return of night racing.

NASCAR, World Rally Championship and Super GT licenses have been used for the first time by the Gran Turismo franchise.

Added Features

Gran Turismo 5 is the only game in this series to offer a damage model and offer varying forms of damage that will determined whether the car will be designated as “premium” or “standard”. Another feature included in GT5 is weather effects, however, players will find that this feature is available only on specific circuits. Karting and Optional Stereoscopic 3d resolution are also present in this version of Gran Turismo. Additionally, the designer has introduced new visual effects such as dust, dynamic skid marks and the option for players to flash their headlights. Players can also create new circuits through the use of a course editor and the implementation of tools that randomly create track-parts as per user specifications. These specifications can be set to determine the time of day and the number of corners, as well the amount of sectors. Players can select from a number of different themes which will provide the basis for individual circuit designs.

Both external and mechanical damage modeling is provided by Gran Turismo 5, which is a first for this feature from this franchise. The modeling process includes a deformation engine in real-time that processes model deformation as it results from the angle of impact and the speed. Cars can also be overturned, which is another first for this franchise. The vehicles in Gran Turismo 5 are either denoted as “premium” or “standard” cars. There are less detailed damage models for standard vehicles and scratches, dents and dirt will appear on the damage model when an accident has occurred. There are also no aftermarket wheels for standard vehicles, as well as numerous other aesthetic improvements like wheel paint. Conversely, “premium” cars feature damage models that are a bit more advanced in design. While Gran Turismo 2 also included a damage model, this model was restricted to mechanical failures.

Sales For Gran Turismo 5
More than 6.3 million units of GT5 were purchased by consumers as of March 26, 2011. More than 432,000 copies of the game were sold each day, for 13 days straight, allowing for the successful break or all European sales records. For PlayStation 3, GT5 was the top-selling video game, but has since been surpassed by Black Ops, a game within the Call of Duty series. As a whole, the Gran Turismo franchise has sold in excess of 61.41 units across the globe and continues to be the best-selling PlayStation exclusive game series ever. Gran Turismo 5, according to Polyphony Digital shifted 6.37 million games from its November launch and the end of 2010. In spite of its late 2010 release, GT5 has become the 7th in top-selling PlayStation 3 Games in the United States and the 2nd best seller of the year. It is also the highest-selling PlayStation 3 exclusive series in Europe, including the United Kingdom.

Metacritic Rating: 94/100
Copies Sold: 5 million (as of December 2009)
Release Date: June 2008

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a game created exclusively for the Playstation 3 games console by Kojima Productions. Hideo Kojima once again took on the role of director, with the game being made available globally on June 12, 2008, some ten years after the release of the original 3D game in the series, Metal Gear Solid. It had also been twenty years since the original Metal Gear was released in North America.

Set in 2014, Metal Gear Solid 4 starts 9 years after the events of Metal Gear Solid, which is five years after the plot line in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. The global economy hinges on their being constant warfare. Most battles are fought with PMCs, who have the government military forces severely outnumbered. All PMC soldiers have been enhanced with nanomachines that are joined into a control network dubbed the Sons of the Patriots. Liquid Ocelot is preparing to take control of this network. Snake, on the other hand, has less than one year left to live due to accelerated aging, a symptom of his being a clone. Roy Campbell, Snake’s commanding officer in previous games, offers him one last mission to eliminate Liquid, which Snake accepts. Snake is then transported to the Middle Eastern war zone where intelligence reports suggest Liquid Snake is in hiding.

Stealth, combined with a mix of traditional combat skills, are key components of successful missions in MGS4, where players take on the role of Old Snake. The previous games utilized an overhead camera view, but MGS4 has made use of a third-person view, with a switch to an over the shoulder camera when aiming to fire a weapon. There is also an option to view the game world with a first person view, should the player choose to.

Further additions to the game make user of a Psyche Meter. Non lethal attacks have the effect of decreasing the Psyche Meter, but other events and conditions on the battlefield can also cause the Psyche Meter to react. Temperature extremes, foul smells, and being pursued by enemy forces, all have an effect on Old Snake’s stress gauge, with the end result being a fully depleted meter. Once this happens, Snake has trouble operating effectively. He will have trouble aiming, experience back pain, and may even pass out if he receives any damage. Snake’s Psyche Meter can be restored through smoking, drinking, eating, or reading an adult magazine.

Snake has been blessed with a small arsenal of hitech gadgets to help him get through a difficult mission. A suit dubbed the OctoCamo mimics the surrounding textures, much like a chameleon or octopus, giving Snake a greater chance of remaining undetected. The Solid Eye device can pinpoint enemies as well as useful items. It also gives Snake a night vision mode and a binocular mode. Included in the Solid Eye’s functions is a map feature which highlights the location of enemies in close proximity. The Threat Ring also performs a similar function by representing Snake’s senses to the player, and deforming it when units are close enough to become a threat.

Sales

Metal Gear Solid 4 had the honor of being the best selling Playstation 3 exclusive, prior to the release of Gran Turismo 5. According to page 5 of Konami’s 3rd quarter results, Five miilion units had been sold globally, as of December 2009.

Call of Duty: World at War is another game in the Call of Duty series that has a more mature theme than other installments of the game. This is an open-ended game as there are numerous ways in which the objectives can be completed. World at War shares numerous features with other games in this series. Players and AI-controlled teammates fight alongside one another and can help in the different missions of the game by shooting down foes, providing cover fire and clearing rooms before they are entered.

With the Wii version of this game, rather than using standard controllers such as those that are used by the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, the Wii Zapper can be employed. This is an optional, gun-like controller. The Zapper or the Nunchuk or Wii Remote can all be used to aim and fire at targets and in the simulation of marksmanship.

The return to the warfare of the World War II era reintroduces technology and weapons that were present in the early games of the Call of Duty franchise such as the Mosin-Nagant rifle and the Thompson submachine gun as well as the anti-tank Panzerschreck rocket launcher. Players have access to each one of the weapons at some point throughout the game, but can carry only hand grenades and two extra weapons maximum. Players can additionally retrieve weapons from fallen enemies and use these to replace weapons within their personal arsenal. Weapons with extra attachments can also be found by players, including guns that have telescopic sites, rifle grenades and bayonets.

There are three stances that a character can be positioned in. These include the prone position and the crouching and standing positions. Each of these positions will impact the speed, agility, stealth and accuracy of the player. Taking cover will help to protect players from enemy fire or allow them to recover health after substantial damage has been taken. The edge of the screen will grow red and the character will develop a distressed heartbeat when significant damage has occurred. If able to remain outside of the line of fire, the character will ultimately have the ability to recover from these damages. When positioned within the blast radius of a grenade a marker will indicate the grenade’s direction, enabling the player to determine whether the weapon should be launched back or whether to flee the scene.

There are 13 hidden death cards that the single player campaign includes. These are marked by playing cards that have been placed atop basic war graves. Each level includes one, except for levels that are set in vehicles. Players can collect these to unlock cheats for the Co-op mode, such as “paintball mode” and reduced endurance for foes.

In November of 2008, Call of Duty: World at War was the second best-selling game in the US. More than 1.41 units were sold. The PlayStation 3 version and the Xbox 360 version were the ninth and second best-selling units respectively during the month of December 2008 in the US. 1.33 million and 533,000 were purchased for each of these version respectively. Selling in excess of 2.75 million units, the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: World at War was the sixth top-selling game in 2008 as well. The Wii version of Call of Duty: World at War ranked 19th among best-selling games for 2007 and 7th among best-selling Wii games in December 2008. There was increased interest in this game in the UK, where the first week sales were double the amount of Modern Warfare for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. It has also, excluding Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto IV, become the best-selling game in the UK. Call of Duty: World at War has as of June 2008, has sold in excess of 11 million units.

Final Fantasy XIII is an RPG designed for play on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It was released in 2009 in Japan, and a year later in the US. The publisher is Square Enix, who has done all the previous 12 Final Fantasy games. The game involves quick combat, a unique system to determine what abilities the characters get, and customizable attacks. Final Fantasy XIII is similar to its predecessors in that it has monsters you can summon, chocobos, and flying airships. It also includes fantastic visuals, a compelling story, great music, and the classic good versus evil feel of the franchise.

The plot takes place in the world of Cocoon, which is ruled by the governing body, the Sanctum. Underneath Cocoon is another world, Pulse which Sanctum is afraid of. They order an extermination of anybody who has had contact with this world. The main character is Lightning, whose sister has been taken by Pulse and is thus now targeted by the government. Soon Lightning gets allies to help her, and they are on a quest to defeat Sanctum while also battling against creatures from the Pulse world. The world is quite immense and features an array of interesting and unique monsters to fight. The characters get stronger over time, which is necessary because they will be facing tougher and tougher opponents as they advance on their journey.

The game started being worked on in 2006, and intentions to produce it was announced at E3 in 2006. Final Fantasy XIII was well received by most publications, who liked the games graphics and combat system. Many reviewers were less favorable in their assessment and thought the game’s story was too linear and too close to other Final Fantasy games. The game sold 1.7 million copies in Japan during its release year, making it the fastest selling Final Fantasy game ever. Not even halfway through 2010, the game had sold over 6 million copies across the globe. Early in 2011, Square Enix said a sequel to this game was coming, called Final Fantasy XIII-2, hopefully destined for release the same year.

Much like its predecessors, Gears of War 3 is a third-person shooter that places a high emphasis on the use of squad and cover tactics and strategies in combat. The player is able to carry four weapons: one set of grenades and one pistol as well as two additional weapons, each of which can be switched for other weapons that are in stockpiles throughout the game or which have been let go of by fallen enemies. There is a secondary fire mode feature that most weapons in the game possess, including the Lancer, the signature rifle of the game. This features a chainsaw bayonet that can slice enemies through when used at close range. All weapons ammunition can be reloaded by the player. The player can use an “active reload” that is designated by a small-sized cursor that moves above the HUD or heads-up display. When players hit their control buttons the cursor will appear in the section that is marked and the resulting reload will be faster and more powerful than if standard bullets were used. If the button is depressed outside of this region, however, the weapon will temporarily jam and the player will be left vulnerable throughout this time. Conversely, players can opt to use the active reload which essentially reloads weapons at the standard pace. Players can even, at times, opt to carry heavier weapons such a gatling guns or mortars. These weapons, however, will ultimately slow the player’s pace as long as they are being carried.

Players can take a measured amount of damage from enemy fire when in combat. This fills up a red “crimson omen” on the heads-up display and denotes the player’s health. As the player continues to remain out of the line of fire, the “crimson omen” will dissipate. When too much damage is taken by the player, the player can go down but can be brought back up by a comrade during a short “bleed out”. Alternatively, the player can die. If the game is being played at a superior difficulty level, however, the player will instantly die after extensive damage has occurred. Enemies can use execution moves to kill players during “bleed-out” periods. Additionally, head shots and explosives can instantly kill players without “bleed-out” periods. Enemies can be similarly be used by players to “bleed-out” as well. Players and their enemies and allies alike can use almost every structure to find cover. They can fire blind bullets from behind these structures or lean out in order to aim and take shots. Players are also able to switch rapidly to close by structures or walls or jump over cover that is lower than their starting position in a forward rush. Some forms of cover within Gears of War 3 can additionally be destroyed when impacted by a substantial amount of damage, which can ultimately provide tactical advantages when enticing enemies to come out from their hiding places.

The ability to tag opponents is a feature that is new to Gears of War 3. With this feature computer-controlled allies will focus their fire on the enemies that have been marked while human allies are additionally made aware of the locations of marked enemies on the HUD. Weapons and ammunition can now also be traded among allies throughout the battle.

The player is able to maintain an experience level throughout all modes of the game. Experience is gained through kills, making special types of kills, aiding and reviving teammates and through competitive modes and campaigns. Earning new levels will unlock the use of special weapons and character skins when the game is played in multiplayer mode.

Marcus Fenix and the COG forces were set to eliminate Jacinto Plateau in Gears of War 2, which was the only remaining major city on planet Sera following the Emergence Day arrival of the Locust seventeen years past. Creatures that have mutated as the result of exposure to Imulsion, an energetic liquid, the Locust and their tunnels were necessary to destroy in order to reduce the spread of Lambent.

Sales

During its launch week, Gears of War 3 sold in excess of 3 million copies. The sales for Gears of War 3 were higher than the first two games in the series.

As of September 27, 2011 more than $1 billion has been grossed by the Gears of War franchise.

Copies Sold: 4.9 million (As of October 2011)
Release Date: October 2009

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a game filled with action. It is ideal for those who seek adventure. It is played by controlling the lead character Nathan Drake in the third person. Drake is capable of jumping, climbing, and scaling tiny ledges and walls to get from place to place. Drake can use two weapons, a single or double handed gun along with a supply of grenades. Drake can arm himself with weapons that automatically take the place of the things that he was using and other ammunition from foes that were killed. The player can make Drake protect himself behind walls or corners when using fire to attack enemies. The player may also have Drake attack when on the move. If Drake goes unnoticed by enemies, the player may try to use secrets to kill them, like sneaking in back of them and killing them with a single hit or by pushing them over a ledge where Drake is hanging from. It is quite exciting. If all of the enemies watching a location are killed slyly, then other waves that would usually show up do not appear. Certain locations in the game make the player solve puzzles by using Drake’s journal. This gives clues to the solutions. When able, a system of hints can give clues like the direction to find the next object.

Through the game, there are 101 unique treasures that are hidden or are located in hard to reach places that can be collected by the player. There is a secret relic that is identical to the one found in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Gathering these treasures and finishing feats in the game is tracked by medals, which award the player money that is used in the game which opens further content including game movies, concept art, and cheats like guns with unlimited ammunition. A big part of the medals are used to give trophies.

Multiplayer

Uncharted 2 has both co-op multiplayer and competitive modes. The multiplayer lets up to three players take on the role Drake and two other heroes. It features missions that include gunfights, platforming, and team objectives. Players may also help their friends when they become hurt or taken hostage by an enemy. It is a great way to get a group in on the action.

The multiplayer mode lets up to ten players play in teams against each other. Six competitive modes are available. These include: Deathmatch, Elimination, King of the Hill, Plunder, Turf War, and Chain Reaction. Deathmatch has two teams that consist of five people. One team is the heroes while the other is the villains. Players can pick the right character models, like Sully, Drake, Elena, or new characters like Chloe and Tenzin. As players rack up points they move up rank and may buy more skins for both teams. Players may pick two boost abilities which help during all of the matches. Plunder is close to the classic capture the flag game. It makes each team try to get the treasure from the middle of the map and bring it to their base. The player that carries the treasure becomes very slow. They may want to throw it away to keep it from the enemies to give it to another member of the team. Elimination contains two teams of five players going head to head with the goal of killing everyone on the opposing team. In Elimination, the players can not get respawned. The goal included elimination the other team in a set of three out of five.

Chain Reaction makes the players capture posts. The players must follow a certain order. One team works from the base and must capture 1 through 5. The other team begins from home and needs to get 5 through 1. King of the Hill makes players take over a hill that is spawned on the map to get points. They must remain on the hill to get points while the enemies try to do likewise.

Gold Rush is a co-op mode that makes two or three players join up to get a treasure that is spawned at random on the map. They must get it back to their base as in Plunder. However, all enemies attempt to stop the players from getting the treasure back. If a player gets hurt and is not brought back to life before time stops, they will not return util the next round. For every other round, the enemies become harder to defeat. Survival is the next co-op play mode when two or three players must work together to win over a total of ten waves of enemies. Each wave is harder and harder. Siege is a new co-op mode that was added. It has two or three players team up to secure an area while fighting waves of enemies.

September 15, 2009, a new beta was released and on September 29,2009, an open beta was released in Europe and the United States through the PSN store. They expired on October 12, 2009.

In the first year after the launch of the game, hundreds of millions of matches were played and over 10,000 man years were played online.

Sales

On October 2011, almost 5 million copies of the games were sold. This proves its great popularity and fun experience.

Copies Sold: 2.5 million
Release Date: November 2006

Resistance: Fall of Man is usually shortened to RFoM or sometimes just Resistance. This video game allows players to act as combatant shooters from a first-person point of view. RFoM has been developed for the PlayStation 3 platform and is a product of Insomniac Games. The game is also published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Resistance is set in an alternate era that takes place in 1951, and the game plot follows the leader of the human resistance band lead by Sergent Nathan Hale. The armed group attempts to expel an alien invasion that has taken over Great Britain. This game installment continues in the sequel game called Resistance 2.

RFoM is the eighth game produced by the Insomniac developers, and it was completed under Title I-8. Its original release was in Japan on November 11th, 2006. The game then hit the U.S. market one week later. Its European release followed later on the 23rd of March 2007. This installment of Resistance gathered positive reviews as well as a handful of awards from the video game industry. It also has the distinction of being the first PS3 game to sell more than one million copies.

The developers and publishing company of RFoM have recently come under fire from the Church of England for the depiction of Manchester Cathedral in the game. This church has openly objected to the shots of the cathedral’s inside as well as the violence from the game action.

First-person shooting sequences make up the mode of game play in Resistance. This game takes place in an alternate period of history that is evident in the types of weapons used. Some of the firearms are based off of real 1950s weapons, although some have been changed with futuristic upgrades. The game developers have added their creativity for inventive vehicles and weapons along with their engine of development. The movement of the game action also indicates the application of the developers’ unique physics system. The weapons each have separate styles and strategies as a result. Auger firearms are shot with rapid fire sequences, although the bullets can move through walls and gain speed on the opposite sides. The same weapon’s secondary firing sequence creates a bullet-resistant barrier. Resistance also features a series of grenades along with the standard short- and long-range firearms.

Both futuristic and historically accurate grenades can be found in RFoM. The Backlash grenade creates a protective shield for the combatants and can deflect shots from sophisticated war weapons such as the Chimera. First-time players may find that not all weapons are available the first time around but can be used once they return for a second round of game play.

RFoM features a number of advanced gaming technologies such as attacks by melee and motion sensing. The SIXAXIS game controller can be used for getting enemies off the fighter’s trail and escaping flames. Leader boards can also be accessed quickly with this controller in multiplayer mode. Other tools at the player’s disposal include a combat jeep and a gun turret. Resistance is also slated to receive Sony’s update that will allow compatibility with the DualShock 3 game controller.

Single player rounds of RFoM allow for a range of available skill point levels. Actions that award points usually have hints in their titles. Details are not unveiled until the player actually completes the given task. Standard skill points can be gathered at each of the game levels, and different tasks carry their own point values depending on difficulty. Points also serve as currency that can be used to unlock different and extra media features of the game. Players who take advantage of Intel documents throughout the game can gain an advantage by learning about future happenings in this alternate history.

Resistance: Fall of Man also has an extensive multiplayer mode for as many as 40 players at once. Up to four offline players at a time can join a session as well. This particular multiplayer feature requires an existing PlayStation Network ID that gamers usually have activated beforehand.
